MAJOR BANTAM WINS BRONZE IN BARRIE

January 30, 2007.

CKaTT's Major Bantam participated in their 1st sanctioned tournament in Barrie, Ontario this past weekend and churned out a Bronze medal with a total TEAM effort. They were denied at a chance to play for a Gold medal with a loss to the Mississauga Monarchs by 8 seconds and a 1 point differential. Coach Glenn mentioned, "It was TEAM basketball from the beginning to the end. It was what Basketball is about and what it should be about. No superstars, a consistent sharing of the ball."  The Team went through Barrie, Nepean, and Cornwall.

Even Sloan Campbell the site convener mentioned, "You have some NICE guards." With two guards suffering with a bout of the flu, one player being ejected, cut lips and bruised knees the bench had to be activated in most of the games. Also of note are seven of this year's 12 man roster are all new to Rep basketball. Assistant Coach Graydon said, "We are so deep in the bench, we can put anyone in and it doesn't effect our game flow." Assistant Coach Romy also mentioned, "We were able to run some plays, watch the offence come together and have everyone participate in team basketball."

The team is now in preparation for their next tournament in a few weeks. Coach Glenn concluded, "I am very happy at the progress of this year's CKaTT 2007 entry. Even the sky is no limit for them."
